Add blogging ability to user profiles

I'd love to have my own blog on SO. It has nice engine and I find myself often just asking questions that in some cases shouldn't be asked but rather blogged about...

What do you think ?

Why not ask a question and post a high-quality answer of your own? Sort of like a mini-blog, and keeping within the spirit of a Q&A site. –  Cody Gray Aug 9 '11 at 10:29

SO user blogs would likely take away from the question and answer content that it exists for and I guess would be generally be self-serving.

Further, there already exists plenty of established blogging platforms such as wordpress which SE uses for its blogs.

Your user bio page was designed to allow you to enter links to your projects, blogs and other personal stuff which is fair as it allows your own personlised part of SE, everyone has fair space and it adds no noise to the content.

However, you could get involved in the various SE site blogs E.g gaming by getting involved in each community and meta sites. See: http://blog.stackoverflow.com/2011/06/blog-overflow/
