Meta Stack Exchange is where users like you discuss bugs, features, and support issues that affect the software powering all 158 Stack Exchange communities.

What is meta?
Here's how it works:
  1. Any Stack Exchange user can ask a question
  2. The community provides support, votes on ideas, and reports bugs
  3. Your voice helps shape the way Stack Exchange operates

Would it be possible to generate and release incremental data dumps (perhaps in addition to the full dumps)?

The reason being, obviously, they are getting quite large to download and they'll only grow. I also understand there's quite a bit of technical difficulty in creating an incremental dump.

EDIT: See my related question on SO

Applying incremental updates doesn't sound like a cake-walk either. – Shog9 Sep 6 '11 at 18:23
Incremental updates don't sound hard to me. Just make a full dump and run a program that creates a delta file from the two xml files. – CodesInChaos Oct 1 '11 at 8:47
