Meta Stack Exchange is where users like you discuss bugs, features, and support issues that affect the software powering all 153 Stack Exchange communities.

What is meta?
Here's how it works:
  1. Any Stack Exchange user can ask a question
  2. The community provides support, votes on ideas, and reports bugs
  3. Your voice helps shape the way Stack Exchange operates

When retagging Should I upgrade to Ruby 1.9?, I had to edit the title too, because the original was too short.

Is this kind of check intended for mere retags? What happens if someone has the rep to retag a question, but not edit the title without suggestions?

In my opinion, that question is too localized and should not exist at all -- so the reminder that "hey, this question predates our title length rules" is a reminder that we should re-evaluate the whole question not just the title rule..

I wish it were too localized. :( – Andrew Grimm Sep 16 '11 at 0:23

@AndrewGrimm: And yet it is still open. No, wait, I just closed it. – Won't Sep 16 '11 at 14:10

@won I think Andrew was saying it's still relevant since Ruby 1.9 even after a year is still sketchy. I know nothing of this topic.. – Jeff Atwood Sep 17 '11 at 4:45
