Meta Stack Exchange is where users like you discuss bugs, features, and support issues that affect the software powering all 155 Stack Exchange communities.

What is meta?
Here's how it works:
  1. Any Stack Exchange user can ask a question
  2. The community provides support, votes on ideas, and reports bugs
  3. Your voice helps shape the way Stack Exchange operates

This question already has an answer here:

I have an account in Area51 and there I have a proposal even which has some follower, but that proposal is in the stage of "Definition". I want to delete my account from that network only, but remain active in other stackexchange networks.

How can I do that? I tried to contact administrator of the network ( but have not gotten any response yet.

This question has been asked before and already has an answer. If those answers do not fully address your question, please ask a new question.

In order to get the account deleted, you should:

  • change the username to "delete"
  • change the user information given in "About Me" to "Please delete this account"

After you do that, you can send an email to the email address to which you already sent your email. Until you change the user details as I reported, your account will not be deleted. The changes serve to show the request to delete the account has been done from who can access the account for which has been requested the deletion.

"you can send an email to the email address to which you already sent your email" <- I am sorry, but I send emails to many email addresses, with an overwhelming majority doesn't have anything to do with the SE. – peterh Dec 16 '14 at 10:45
