Meta Stack Exchange is where users like you discuss bugs, features, and support issues that affect the software powering all 158 Stack Exchange communities.

What is meta?
Here's how it works:
  1. Any Stack Exchange user can ask a question
  2. The community provides support, votes on ideas, and reports bugs
  3. Your voice helps shape the way Stack Exchange operates

When I post a link to another post on the same site, it resolves the link to the question title. When I post a link to Stack Overflow from Database Administrators, cross site, it doesn't.

I know I could make it a proper link and all that, but I'm lazy I do like the automatic resolution of links. Would it be possible, or is it a problem like in comments?

I note intra-site is here but no mention (OK, one comment) for cross-site: Replace trilogy raw links with the current question title?

Edit, 14 Nov 2011: any comment by the management?

I think there is just a difference between links in questions/answers (where it works) versus links in comments (where it doesn't). – Paŭlo Ebermann Oct 4 '11 at 16:32

@Paŭlo Eberman: Example of DBA.SE to SO in an answer: dba.stackexchange.com/questions/6502/… And SO to SO: stackoverflow.com/questions/7649701/… – gbn Oct 4 '11 at 16:35

This is already true on this very Meta, but not on other sites and other Metas it seems. – Arjan Oct 4 '11 at 16:54

(As an aside: using the short referral links is no use between the SE network sites. So, you can drop the 27535. That doesn't fix the auto titles though.) – Arjan Oct 4 '11 at 16:56

@Arjan:yep, but I'm too lazy to modify what I copy from the "link" link above :-) eg meta.stackexchange.com/q/77394/27535 – gbn Oct 4 '11 at 16:58

The current implementation is explained in What limitations does converting question links to links with titles have? – Arjan Nov 14 '11 at 19:16
