Meta Stack Exchange is where users like you discuss bugs, features, and support issues that affect the software powering all 158 Stack Exchange communities.

What is meta?
Here's how it works:
  1. Any Stack Exchange user can ask a question
  2. The community provides support, votes on ideas, and reports bugs
  3. Your voice helps shape the way Stack Exchange operates

I'm a little puzzled. I've subscribed to the tag access-vba but not to the tag vba. However, the emails I am getting show that the questions are simply tagged vba, not access-vba.

Is there an explanation for this behavior?

has been made a synonym of the tag, so the system considers them to be the same.

Ideally you'd at least be able to create and subscribe to a tag filter for just questions tagged and and get results similar to those you were expecting, but unfortunately it seems like there's no way to limit filter results to only questions containing all of the specified tags.

I admit this is very unhandy. 99% of all the posts in VBA are about Excel which I'm not really interested in. So that means the access-vba tag is just plain irrelevant. – HK1 Oct 25 '11 at 14:24
