Meta Stack Exchange is where users like you discuss bugs, features, and support issues that affect the software powering all 158 Stack Exchange communities.

What is meta?
Here's how it works:
  1. Any Stack Exchange user can ask a question
  2. The community provides support, votes on ideas, and reports bugs
  3. Your voice helps shape the way Stack Exchange operates

I was sent a Careers invitation by a current user about a two weeks ago. I am already a Careers user, so when I clicked on the "accept invitation", I got to a page on Careers that says:

You already have a profile! No need to accept the invitation below.

Just today, I received a reminder email letting me know that the invitation expires in 3 days. I still get the same message telling me I already have a profile.

I'm thinking that current users who get invites shouldn't get the email, as they're already users, or if they do get the email, simply navigating to the invitation page should make it so that Careers doesn't keep emailing me about an invitation that I can't really "accept" as I'm already a user.

Hi, I suspect we have a different email address(es) for you. If the invitation is bothering you, drop us a note with your email addresses and we'll have a look. – Matt Sherman Nov 1 '11 at 17:22
@MattSherman It's not bothering me, just wanted to let you guys know about it. I received it at the same email as is in my profile - my username here as one word @ – Jared Harley Nov 1 '11 at 19:17
