Meta Stack Exchange is where users like you discuss bugs, features, and support issues that affect the software powering all 155 Stack Exchange communities.

What is meta?
Here's how it works:
  1. Any Stack Exchange user can ask a question
  2. The community provides support, votes on ideas, and reports bugs
  3. Your voice helps shape the way Stack Exchange operates

Pressing Ctrl + Enter while editing any post will commit the edit.

Can we have the same hotkey while typing a new answer (instead of having to press Tab, Enter)?

I'm glad <kbd> is back on meta. – SLaks Nov 22 '11 at 17:40
If I use tab + enter, I am sent to – kiamlaluno Nov 22 '11 at 18:46
@kiamlaluno: I mean from within the answer box, after you finish typing. – SLaks Nov 22 '11 at 18:48
If I do it from the "Your Answer" text area, I highlight the browser's text box for the URL. – kiamlaluno Nov 22 '11 at 18:51
@kiamlaluno: What browser are you using? – SLaks Nov 22 '11 at 18:52
I am using Safari 5.1.1 on Mac OS X 10.7.2. Actually, not even "control + tab" has the effect you are describing, for me; I even tried using another modifier, instead of the control key, but the effect is always the same: I move the text cursor to a new line. – kiamlaluno Nov 22 '11 at 18:53
It works for me on Windows. You just made my question stronger, since Mac users can't even use Tab, Enter. – SLaks Nov 22 '11 at 18:54
