Here's how it works:

  2. The community provides support, votes on ideas, and reports bugs
  3. Your voice helps shape the way Stack Exchange operates

I asked a question yesterday and tagged it with (this to my surprise was a new tag).

This morning I noticed the question was edited and the tag removed. Two things urged me with this:

  1. The edit gave no reason why the tag was inappropriate
  2. The user who edited, while having 16k rep, was not really an Xcode user so not really qualified to make a judgment.

The archiving system in Xcode has many nuances and I have asked and answered many questions on it, so a tag seem like a good idea.

How can useful (IMO) tags like this gain any traction if over zealous high rep users just remove them?
