Meta Stack Exchange is where users like you discuss bugs, features, and support issues that affect the software powering all 158 Stack Exchange communities.

What is meta?
Here's how it works:
  1. Any Stack Exchange user can ask a question
  2. The community provides support, votes on ideas, and reports bugs
  3. Your voice helps shape the way Stack Exchange operates

I revisited one of my answers, and was surprised to see a comment left, many hours before.

The thing is, I never got an inbox notification!

Missing inbox notice

The comment does show up in my responses list...

Notice is in responses

Just not my inbox.

Note that "Didn't get notification for comment on my answer" is related but it's marked , and the problem persists.

I'd dropped a comment about me not getting any notifications – Sathya Dec 3 '11 at 7:13
The backend (and front end) of notifications has changed considerably since this was posted. Closing as no-repro. – Oded Jul 24 '14 at 12:05
@Oded, Fair enough. Can't say I've seen this problem in the last few months, but it's also insidiously hard to spot. It was merest coincidence that I caught it the first time. I see that almost the opposite issue was reported 4 months ago, but that may just be a less-serious caching delay? – Awesome Poodles Jul 24 '14 at 12:53
That issue is that deletion of a post doesn't delete related notifications... – Oded Jul 24 '14 at 13:01
