How addicted to Stack Overflow are you really?

I've recently realized that I'm getting really addicted to these sites (especially SO) for various reasons.

  1. I feel like I've failed myself when a day passes and I didn't reach my 200 reputation cap. (maybe that's a small exaggeration)

  2. I've build a widget that shows my reputation directly on my desktop, updated every 10 minutes (top center):

So the question is, how addicted are you to Stack Overflow?

The widgets are powered by my Image Based Flair (Source) PHP Script.

You should take a break. Addictions are bad, and even the quality of your answers and behavior on the site will decrease if you visit it too much. –  user139018 May 1 '11 at 21:35

Even on Facebook lately, I've been starting to call people the "OP" –  Jerry Dodge Apr 24 '13 at 22:05

Very, very addicted.

Well, direct links to newest questions at SO, SF, SU and Meta are in my bookmark toolbar. That's 40% of my toolbar at the moment.

And something like @mmyers said, except it's now Saturday evening. :)

I'm trying. There's so much great content on here, but I can't seem to settle into an efficient pattern of finding the great content that's interesting to me. How do you use stack overflow?

share|improve this answer

I've managed to break the addiction. I didn't even feel bad when I fell off the first page at SO and SF.

After having not visited for quite some time, and coming back into a few interestingly meta questions, I'm thinking, "Uh oh... I'd better leave before I start up again..."

...

/checks to see if rep has gone up at any of the four sites...

I've no time to download and change the background picture,
less to program or install some widgets....

When you have SOflair on your android phone home screen, and 15 minutes notification for Droidstack (and begging on Android Market for 3-minute interval), you know you're a little addicted.

When you look for the button to down-vote because you disagree with somebody who is talking together you.

I'm addicted that way that I add two blanks at the end of a line in a text box and check for preview how the line break looks. Or that my code gets indented and correct highlighted.

And I'm surprised seeing no preview nor any other behaviour of SO/SE text boxes. It just send what I typed.

Once I got engaged with a girl, she often said me, Computer and SO are your first wives and I will be second.

And I went on a leave of a week in end Jan2013 to feb, once I came back I again started SO. I always have some arguments on this. And I cant sleep < 200 . you can check my profile,

I can say I am StackOverflowic

Not much. SO is very useful and I probably couldn't work without it.

Meta is just a huge time-waster. It reminds me of the dorm-governance meetings in University.

Edit: I am addicted to programming and technology, though I try to control it. Hence I admire your Desktop widget. Nice stuff.

Hey can I get that widget? I really mean it.

(It's Sunday morning - 6.43 AM here and I was awake till 2.14 last night).

But honestly I am not that addicted. I've been a member since about a year now, but I visit it in bursts (when I can't keep my hands off it anymore). The other time I am just coding my projects.
