Meta Stack Exchange is where users like you discuss bugs, features, and support issues that affect the software powering all 157 Stack Exchange communities.

What is meta?
Here's how it works:
  1. Any Stack Exchange user can ask a question
  2. The community provides support, votes on ideas, and reports bugs
  3. Your voice helps shape the way Stack Exchange operates

I want to use the rss feed of stackoverflow for my iPhone application. Is there any procedure for that?

Do you want to read it on your iPhone or do you want to use it in the application you're writing? – Time Traveling Bobby Dec 20 '11 at 10:00
i want to use the existing rss feed in my application – KnightRider Dec 20 '11 at 10:01
You're welcome to do this, but may find it easier to use the official API. You can find examples of existing programs that use the API, as well as ask questions about it, over on stackapps. There's even some existing wrappers for it, which may make your life easier. – nhinkle Dec 20 '11 at 10:08

I don't know about allowed or not, but I would think it's discourage. Much better for everyone (yourself included) if you use the API.
