What is meta? ×
Meta Stack Exchange is where users like you discuss bugs, features, and support issues that affect the software powering all 143 Stack Exchange communities.

If you go to close a question as an exact duplicate and others have already chosen that as a reason, the interface displays a link to the question. It would be nice if, in addition to the link, there was a link that allowed me to accept that as my reason as well. Instead, I'm forced to look at the question, grab the id, and paste that into the close reason text box which then allows me to choose the same exact reason from the selection, and finally to accept that as my reason. A better interface would pop up a dialog when clicking on the link with some fragment of the question and allow me to choose from the dialog whether to dismiss it, open the original in a new window (if I needed to see more), or accept it as my reason.
