Provided those questions are still on-topic on SO, I see no reason to remove this tag (or merge it into ).

An environment in LaTeX is an important concept that's widely used. I'd guess that was introduced to clarify questions that where tagged with and (and indeed: most of the questions found here should probably be have been retagged by me).

Since we now have TeX.sx as a first-class citizen on the "flag as ot"-dialog, I think these questions are OT for SO; I'll flag every new one for migration to TeX.SX. –  Martin Schröder Oct 8 '12 at 12:08
