Meta Stack Exchange is where users like you discuss bugs, features, and support issues that affect the software powering all 153 Stack Exchange communities.

What is meta?
Here's how it works:
  1. Any Stack Exchange user can ask a question
  2. The community provides support, votes on ideas, and reports bugs
  3. Your voice helps shape the way Stack Exchange operates

I am getting "Have you considered accepting an answer or starting a bounty for this question?" for a question where a bounty is active, already. Maybe "Have you considered accepting an answer for this question?" would be better here.

Can be "linked" to this case - instead of just checking the user reputation, check each question if it's eligible for a bounty (same check that is performed to decide whether or not to show the "Start a bounty" link) – Shadow Wizard Jan 31 '12 at 14:32

We will no longer show the bounty message if there is an open bounty for a question.
