Meta Stack Exchange is where users like you discuss bugs, features, and support issues that affect the software powering all 158 Stack Exchange communities.

What is meta?
Here's how it works:
  1. Any Stack Exchange user can ask a question
  2. The community provides support, votes on ideas, and reports bugs
  3. Your voice helps shape the way Stack Exchange operates

I was improving a suggested edit for a tag excerpt, and I noticed the "community wiki" checkbox. I didn't select it because the excerpt should already be a community wiki, but then I had the doubt I should have selected it.

Does that checkbox appear because what it is shown is the usual post edit form, or does that checkbox have a different meaning in this case?

If I try to edit an existing tag wiki, or its excerpt, I don't see the checkbox.
