What is meta? ×
Meta Stack Exchange is where users like you discuss bugs, features, and support issues that affect the software powering all 128 Stack Exchange communities.

I need to superping a user that apparently only has an Area 51 account, but when I try to use

@@xxxxx@discuss.area51.stackexchange.com

I get

User not found: @@xxxxx@discuss

I imagine there's something wrong with the way the domain name is parsed.

How about dropping the discuss subdomain? –  random Feb 6 '12 at 20:50

@random Without that, the superping isn't processed as one. –  badp Feb 6 '12 at 20:52

Discuss is generally weird -- you can't subscribe to posts there either, for example. Presumably it's a different branch than normal metas? –  Matthew Read Feb 6 '12 at 21:22

superping? –  BlueRaja Feb 6 '12 at 23:22

@BlueRaja It's a mod thing. –  John Feb 6 '12 at 23:31

@MatthewRead - Area51 is built on the SE 1.0 engine. There's a planned update which will rework the whole thing, so the 2.0 update (and this conversation) aren't really a big deal. –  Kevin Vermeer Feb 6 '12 at 23:38

@Kevin Interesting, thanks for the info. –  Matthew Read Feb 7 '12 at 16:31
