Meta Stack Exchange is where users like you discuss bugs, features, and support issues that affect the software powering all 158 Stack Exchange communities.

What is meta?
Here's how it works:
  1. Any Stack Exchange user can ask a question
  2. The community provides support, votes on ideas, and reports bugs
  3. Your voice helps shape the way Stack Exchange operates

Viewing the stars tab for Tavern on the Meta, the first item is a link to Jeff's blog about his leaving, but it doesn't get linkified like it does in the normal list. It should display as:

Am I expected to actually copy-paste a link? That's a lot of effort, you know.

Here's an image, since apparently this is not an issue for everyone:

I'm confused. You mean you're having trouble doing this? --> Farewell Stack Exchange – Robert Harvey Feb 14 '12 at 21:10
@Robert: Did you look at the page? Plain links which start with just http:// appear as plain text, they don't become actual hyperlinks. – animuson Feb 14 '12 at 21:11
It looks like a link to me. – Robert Harvey Feb 14 '12 at 21:12
@Robert: Can you click it? – animuson Feb 14 '12 at 21:13
Of course. It takes me to Jeff's blog post. – Robert Harvey Feb 14 '12 at 21:14
I see this as well, FF10 on Ubuntu 10.10. Possibly status-bydesign if related to Any chance you have a linkifier extension like I do in Chrome, @Robert? – Matthew Read Feb 14 '12 at 21:15
@RobertHarvey Are you actually on the stars page, and not looking at the stars list in the sidebar? – Tim Stone Feb 14 '12 at 21:17
I'm not in Chrome or FireFox; I'm in IE8. – Robert Harvey Feb 14 '12 at 21:17
I'm inclined to believe this is similar to the block quote issue in transcripts, which makes me rage, but we'll see. – Tim Stone Feb 14 '12 at 21:18
@TimStone: No, I'm in the Tavern. Why would you need this in the archives? Ctrl-C, Ctrl-V. – Robert Harvey Feb 14 '12 at 21:19
Interesting; I thought we ran out auto-linkify code over that, but I'll check in the morning. – Marc Gravell Feb 14 '12 at 21:55
@Marc: Did you ever check that morning? – animuson Feb 24 '12 at 5:58
@animuson I did, but I was somewhat distracted by a rogue server burning up memory ;p taking a look... – Marc Gravell Feb 24 '12 at 6:28

Cough more quietly please, it's too not-subtle. – animuson Feb 24 '12 at 18:26
