Meta Stack Exchange is where users like you discuss bugs, features, and support issues that affect the software powering all 157 Stack Exchange communities.

What is meta?
Here's how it works:
  1. Any Stack Exchange user can ask a question
  2. The community provides support, votes on ideas, and reports bugs
  3. Your voice helps shape the way Stack Exchange operates

When the tag is present on a question, I think it is generally safe to apply Java syntax highlighting. Example question:

JAXB HashMap unmappable

Alternatively, XML syntax highlighting could be applied, but usually the interesting part of the question is about how to use JAXB in Java

Is there any reason to not just add the java tag? – Bill the Lizard Feb 26 '12 at 17:14
@BilltheLizard: java is redundant with the j in jaxb. Some may argue that the java tag is thus not necessary. But then again, this rule would apply to many other tags, too. Maybe that goes too far? – Lukas Eder Feb 26 '12 at 17:24
