What is meta? ×
Meta Stack Exchange is where users like you discuss bugs, features, and support issues that affect the software powering all 134 Stack Exchange communities.

When adding a comment to a closed question, an orange error message box appears. This box however has a very strange position and size:

Also, the message is not very precise. An improvement would be: "This questions has been closed. You cannot add a comment to it."

That question(10k) has since been deleted.

You started your comment when the question was only closed - that's fine, you can do that - but you can't comment on deleted questions (not even at 10k). So this is by design, not a bug.

As to the funky layout - that's a very rare situation to get into, and the text is accurate. I don't think anything needs fixing here.

Not related to your question here, but please abstain from that type of derogatory comment. It doesn't add value to anything. The FAQ says:

Be nice

The OP was posting the 3rd "crap" question. I don't call a question bad lightly. It was abusive. I actually think it does add value to discourage him from doing that. –  usr Mar 4 '12 at 22:15
As for your response to the potential bug: thanks! I fully agree. –  usr Mar 4 '12 at 22:15
