I downvoted this post (10k only).

It got deleted.

I got the -1 back twice:

The http://stackoverflow.com/reputation shows the correct calculation.

I have now 1 rep too much.

The proposed change is a lie: Recent Reputation History Changes

Update (1 week later): this has occurred once again for this post (which was downvoted 37 minutes ago at the moment of this screenshot).

The only difference is that the set of -1 and +1 is now (correctly) totally disappeared and that I thus don't get it back twice. But I got a mysterious upvote of only 1 rep.

I have now 1 rep too much.

The http://stackoverflow.com/reputation shows the correct calculation.

Update 2 (another week later): this has occurred once again for this post. The post didn't get deleted, but I just removed the downvote. I got a +1 instead of nothing (rep cap) in the reputation list for the first upvote which occurred after the downvote.

The only difference is that I undownvoted the post instead of that the post got deleted.

I have now 1 rep too much.

The http://stackoverflow.com/reputation shows the correct calculation.

You know that the changes are not reflected immediately in your profile, right? –  casperOne Mar 5 '12 at 15:07

@casperOne It's supposed to be within five minutes, but it had been 32 when he posted. The change is a lie. –  Jeremy Banks Mar 5 '12 at 15:09

250K rep user complaining about having 1 rep too much - I think this could happen only in programming community –  gnat Mar 5 '12 at 15:12

I will take your +1 rep if you want, and raise you +3 –  amanaP lanaC A nalP A naM A Mar 5 '12 at 15:21

@ama - I see your +3 and raise you a "not an answer" flag :P –  Lix Mar 5 '12 at 15:23

Looks like some strange interaction with the daily cap. hmm for some reason he really is at limit +3 now. –  CodesInChaos Mar 5 '12 at 15:59

@gnat, having 250k rep in the first place seems symptomatic of being a point-collecting fanatic, and thus his complaint isn't so surprising to me –  Kristian Mar 12 '12 at 22:33
