Meta Stack Exchange is where users like you discuss bugs, features, and support issues that affect the software powering all 153 Stack Exchange communities.

What is meta?
Here's how it works:
  1. Any Stack Exchange user can ask a question
  2. The community provides support, votes on ideas, and reports bugs
  3. Your voice helps shape the way Stack Exchange operates

I often look for feedback about the design/software architecture for a given problem. Should I ask it on Stack Overflow, or is there a separate site that is dedicated for such things?

Programmers is the place for you.

And if any one says otherwise tell them to read the FAQ and that I sent you.

This was helpful! Can I also ask questions about database modelling in Programmers ? (sample question: stackoverflow.com/questions/9505168/…) – brainydexter Mar 7 '12 at 9:42

@brainydexter - They might be better asked on DBA Stack Exchange – ChrisF Mar 7 '12 at 9:43

Why you wiki this? – Won't Mar 7 '12 at 15:11

@Won't I've been wiking all my answers for quite a while now. – ChrisF Mar 7 '12 at 15:29

@ChrisF: You should just take that rep and spend it on bountying stuff you like. – Won't Mar 7 '12 at 15:38

@Won't - Bountying questions that only devs can answer turned out to be a bit pointless. You're right I should look for good answers to reward. – ChrisF Mar 7 '12 at 15:39
