I would like to propose two changes. (I have posted about this before, but this time my suggestions are more concrete.) Would it be possible to:

  1. Put the yellow comment ("Edited title" above) on the right side? This would read more naturally, since it applies to the changes on the right.
  2. Have title editing work the same way as text editing: Old title on the left, with deletions in red, and new title on the right, with additions in green.

I disagree with point #1. The comment can be just as useful to the original content as it is to the new content. What if the person only deleted something? Then there would only be visible changes on the left side and nothing on the right side. It applies to both sides of the equation. I do like point #2, though. I think it would be very useful in better telling the differences between the old and new title. –  animuson Mar 12 '12 at 22:13

@animuson, here is how I think of it: Here is the original. Then I did this (yellow comment). And here is the result. –  Kyralessa Mar 12 '12 at 22:25

Okay, you don't need to explicitly say "Suggestion: [insert here]" in your title...this is already implied by the tags of the question. It's like saying "Question: [insert here]" on Stack Overflow... –  Purag Mar 13 '12 at 1:30

@Purmou, fair enough, but in turn, I thought your new title was wordy and vague. I welcome you to give it another go, though, and maybe we can find a good compromise. –  Kyralessa Mar 13 '12 at 1:32

@Purmou, see if you like that better. –  Kyralessa Mar 13 '12 at 1:38

So you want to make it look like the diff view where the two output diffs are rendered side-by-side? –  Cody Gray Mar 13 '12 at 4:48

@CodyGray, yes, as well as moving the comment to the right column instead of the left column. –  Kyralessa Mar 13 '12 at 12:50
