I have been hoping for some time and finally it happened. This answer of mine got 10 pluses and this should have earned me both "Enlightened" and "Nice answer" badge. I got the "Nice answer", but didn't get the "Enlightened".

However, I am sure I was the first one to answer. Even if I assume that there was another answer prior to mine that was deleted by its poster, but according to this thread such answer should not count as first and mine should still be the first.

Can somebody please explain why didn't I get the badge? Also is there any query I can run to see if my answer is counted as first?

Please I want my silver badge!

Looks like you got it. Patience is a virtue. –  Oded Apr 16 '12 at 15:40

@Oded Nope, don't agree, now this thread will serve as calm downer for all the further generations of enlightened people. –  Boris Strandjev Apr 16 '12 at 15:41

@Siva After all it is all up to me. I would say both answers carry the same wisdom, so I chose yours as the faster one to answer. –  Boris Strandjev Apr 16 '12 at 18:08

You got the 10th upvote only 37 minutes ago. Please wait for another few hours. You will eventually be awarded the badge. Patience is a virtue.

Yes but the thing is that I got one of the two badges, but not the other one. Shouldn't they two have come up together? Thank you for answering my question. –  Boris Strandjev Apr 16 '12 at 15:08

@BorisStrandjev - The processes that award these badges run at different frequencies and times. Give it some time. –  Oded Apr 16 '12 at 15:10

There are no deleted answers and your question certainly was the first one.

Likely you're just waiting on The ScriptTM to come along and give you your badge, it is not always instantaneous. I will add that I don't know when that 10th vote came along to judge whether or not this is a bug in the badge calculation script.

Your 9th and 10th votes came today, which means you may need to wait a bit longer for The ScriptTM to come along and pin the shiny silver badge on your profile.

They likely are handled via The Script (an implementation detail, thus one you cannot count on) in different ways. There may even be multiple scripts, who knows. Eventually you will be awarded your badge. –  user7116 Apr 16 '12 at 15:11

All badges do not run at the same time, some are more expensive than others (for example this one checks that you were the first answer, which is a great deal more data than the simpler Score >= 10 check, so we run that costly query less often).

You'll get the badge when it runs.
