Meta Stack Exchange is where users like you discuss bugs, features, and support issues that affect the software powering all 157 Stack Exchange communities.

What is meta?
Here's how it works:
  1. Any Stack Exchange user can ask a question
  2. The community provides support, votes on ideas, and reports bugs
  3. Your voice helps shape the way Stack Exchange operates

I can't formally suggest these tag synonyms because I don't have 5 votes in either, but it seems to me that and should be the same tag.

As usual, the proper two-word version has fewer questions tagged with it ... sigh. – Matthew Read Apr 19 '12 at 17:30
@MatthewRead: Probably because readonly is a language keyword. – Robert Harvey Apr 19 '12 at 20:47
@RobertHarvey Ah, that's fair enough. – Matthew Read Apr 19 '12 at 20:55
I disagree, I think @Robert's tag wiki edit is what's needed here. readonly is indeed a language keyword, and it means something different than "read-only" status might imply on a file. – Cody Gray Apr 20 '12 at 1:55
