Meta Stack Exchange is where users like you discuss bugs, features, and support issues that affect the software powering all 158 Stack Exchange communities.

What is meta?
Here's how it works:
  1. Any Stack Exchange user can ask a question
  2. The community provides support, votes on ideas, and reports bugs
  3. Your voice helps shape the way Stack Exchange operates

There's a small bug when you're editing a question and the question is refreshed by the "an edit has been made to this post; click to load" message. If you do not go back and edit the question again and save, you will still get the

alert when navigating away from the page. Since your edits aren't saved in any fashion (or remembered by the editor), expected result would be that the alert does not display.

Steps to reproduce

  • Begin editing a post
  • Wait for it to be edited by another member
  • Refresh the post by clicking on the banner that is shown
  • Navigate away from the page
  • Alert is displayed

I would imagine that this could affect editing answers as well.
