Meta Stack Exchange is where users like you discuss bugs, features, and support issues that affect the software powering all 158 Stack Exchange communities.

What is meta?
Here's how it works:
  1. Any Stack Exchange user can ask a question
  2. The community provides support, votes on ideas, and reports bugs
  3. Your voice helps shape the way Stack Exchange operates

This question has been asked before and already has an answer. If those answers do not fully address your question, please ask a new question.

Because it's just courteous to those of us who sleep once in a while. If you give us at least 24 hours to have a reasonable chance of seeing your question, we might be able to provide an even better answer. There's no reason to get in a rush about accepting an answer. – Cody Gray May 14 '12 at 20:58

No, that's the same for all. You can't accept an answer in the first 15 minutes after posting the question.

The reason is that there may be a better answer posted after the first got in, so you don't accept the first rightish answer, but choose the best.

Will accept answer in 13 minutes and 20 seconds :) – user185791 May 14 '12 at 20:31
It's useful to note that accepting a question tends to discourage other people from answering. So once you accept an answer you have basically stopped the flow of other information and ideas. – user184498 May 14 '12 at 20:59
