Meta Stack Exchange is where users like you discuss bugs, features, and support issues that affect the software powering all 157 Stack Exchange communities.

What is meta?
Here's how it works:
  1. Any Stack Exchange user can ask a question
  2. The community provides support, votes on ideas, and reports bugs
  3. Your voice helps shape the way Stack Exchange operates

Just now I tried to log in to the User Experience SE using my Google ID. I click on the logo and it directs me to the Google 'allow/deny' page. When I 'allow' it, it just errors.

I've experienced this many times now, using different machine/browser combinations.

Other sites do allow me to login and often sites seem to recognize that I am a user with the 'welcome .... click to refresh' banner.

What's going on here?

It's working now. This is very strange. I only ever have this issue when trying to join new sites - I never get this error when logging in to sites of which I'm a long time user – adolf garlic May 21 '12 at 15:47
