Meta Stack Exchange is where users like you discuss bugs, features, and support issues that affect the software powering all 157 Stack Exchange communities.

What is meta?
Here's how it works:
  1. Any Stack Exchange user can ask a question
  2. The community provides support, votes on ideas, and reports bugs
  3. Your voice helps shape the way Stack Exchange operates

I recall seeing a "Steps to build a better Stackoverflow rep: 1. Clone Jon Skeet Steps" ad on the StackOverflow website.

Where did it come from?

What happened to it?

Yes, it is removed. Quite a shock to me too, and big BLOW to the community – enigma Aug 8 '09 at 22:35

I think it was for FinalBuilder. – Pauk Aug 8 '09 at 23:20

what do you mean, FinalBuilder? – enigma Aug 10 '09 at 22:10

That is the product that the Jon Skeet ad was for. – EBGreen Aug 11 '09 at 1:32

@enigma, I mean the advert was for FinalBuilder - finalbuilder.com – Pauk Aug 11 '09 at 20:15

As EBGreen mentioned, it was an ad. But it wasn't removed because it was innapropriate or anything... it was just time for a change. Banners come, banners go... but that one was fun.
