Meta Stack Exchange is where users like you discuss bugs, features, and support issues that affect the software powering all 158 Stack Exchange communities.

What is meta?
Here's how it works:
  1. Any Stack Exchange user can ask a question
  2. The community provides support, votes on ideas, and reports bugs
  3. Your voice helps shape the way Stack Exchange operates

It seems like various things are broken for me on all stack exchange sites. (Weirdly, the only one I've found that works is this very site; I have problems with all the others.)

Here is a list of the things that don't seem to be working.

  • I can't vote on questions (clicking on the arrows does nothing).
  • I can't add comments (clicking on the add comment link does nothing).
  • I can't get the drop down box to appear by hovering on my username.
  • I can't get the box to appear by clicking the stackexchange logo top left.
  • There is blank space at the top of the page where presumably some kind of badge notification should appear.
  • Tag autocompletion options just don't appear.

I am on Ubuntu 12.04 with Firefox 12. I would have assumed that this was some plug-in I'd not reinstalled except that Meta Stack Overflow works fine, and it worked last week (after I upgraded). This is a very strange problem.

Try clearing your cache and temporary internet files. It sounds like the JS for SO isn't loading properly. – ChrisF May 16 '12 at 14:50
This sounds to me like you are having a CDN problem, i.e. the <script>s aren't downloading. If you are a browser-savvy person, I wonder if you could indicate if you are getting any 400 / 500 (etc) responses from the scripts? Or alternatively: just check whether you can view (we don't use the CDN on meta.SO, which might explain it working) – Marc Gravell May 16 '12 at 14:52
That cdn page appears as a big page of text starting 'use strict';window.StackExchange={};function CTIsPlayback(){try{return p and so on. I think clearing the cache might have done the trick. I am going to do the rounds of some sites and see if I can upvote some questions… – Seamus May 16 '12 at 14:55
