Meta Stack Exchange is where users like you discuss bugs, features, and support issues that affect the software powering all 157 Stack Exchange communities.

What is meta?
Here's how it works:
  1. Any Stack Exchange user can ask a question
  2. The community provides support, votes on ideas, and reports bugs
  3. Your voice helps shape the way Stack Exchange operates

When the orange banner for notifications is dismissed, it leaves a blank space above the top bar.

This happened in IE8, with the notification for post having been edited by another user while I was in the process of editing it.

Possibly related to this recent change?

But... didn't that banner get burninated? – Lix May 23 '12 at 20:06
Not for everything. I got it because someone else edited the post I was editing while I was editing it, and I imagine it is probably lurking in a couple other places related to the page you are viewing rather than your account. – yoozer8 May 23 '12 at 20:07
Good point! – Lix May 23 '12 at 20:08
This blank space remains in place when encountered in /review and the next review item is opened, though it is correctly removed when leaving the queue. – Esoteric Screen Name Aug 4 '13 at 7:35
