Meta Stack Exchange is where users like you discuss bugs, features, and support issues that affect the software powering all 158 Stack Exchange communities.

What is meta?
Here's how it works:
  1. Any Stack Exchange user can ask a question
  2. The community provides support, votes on ideas, and reports bugs
  3. Your voice helps shape the way Stack Exchange operates

I just answered this StackOverflow question which was also asked here on BioStars. Should I add in my answer that the question was cross-posted from another site?

just so it's clear in case people don't check the links, the second one is not a site on the SE network. – jmort253 Jun 3 '12 at 20:11

You can, if you want to. But it doesn't have any relevance to our activity here on Stack Overflow, other than to alert other posters that the answer may already exist elsewhere.

It's not like you can close it as a duplicate.
