What is meta? ×
Meta Stack Exchange is where users like you discuss bugs, features, and support issues that affect the software powering all 127 Stack Exchange communities.

I think the so-questions with tag (110 questions) should be merged with tag . (99 questions). I think it makes most sense to keep and delete since has no tag-wiki. (Yes it has more questions, but the other name is better, personal opinion).

Is this even a good tag? It seems like accurate uses of it in the Stack Overflow context would use it as a meta-tag. Most other uses the tag wiki outlines are already off-topic for Stack Overflow. –  animuson Jun 18 '12 at 18:30
Would f.e. a merge of the above 2 tags with the general tag testing be a good idea? I have no idea if web-testing is an (acceptable) term people use? It is probably very hard to investigate. –  r4. Jun 18 '12 at 18:44
Sounds meta-ish to me –  PeeHaa Jun 18 '12 at 18:45
Wooooah now, web test is a Visual Studio function msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms182538(v=vs.80).aspx and the webtest tag appears to be being used to that effect –  Ben Brocka Jun 18 '12 at 19:10
@Ben Brocka. Great find. VS 2010+ does not use the term webtest anymore. From reading the questions about 'webtest' I (round numbers) estimate that 5/6 of the questions is not about the VS 2008- 'webtest'. But about testing of web apps in general. Meaning. SO has about 20 quesions on VS 'webtest'. –  r4. Jun 18 '12 at 21:02
Since the term VS webtest has probably now become redundant, and people mostly not mean VS webtest with the term, personal opinion is a merge of the tags. Good or bad idea? –  r4. Jun 18 '12 at 21:07
If VS webtest is irrelevant, it seems like these should be synonyms of [testing] really, unlike UI testing I don't see much need for differentiation –  Ben Brocka Jun 18 '12 at 21:27
