I've been using Stack Overflow for several months from both my home and work. For some reason starting yesterday (Saturday, June 24, 2012), Stack Overflow started responding slowly. Pages often won't load, or they appear not to be loading, but if I hit the reload button in mid-load, they load immediately. Other websites appear to respond with the same responsiveness as they always have. I was curious if something was causing it to be slower than usual this weekend, and if others are seeing this, or if it's just me?

No problems here. Are you sure this goes for StackExchange sites only? –  Toon Krijthe Jun 24 '12 at 18:52

Define "slowly". Did you check the developer tools of your browser to identify what is slow? –  Oded Jun 24 '12 at 18:56

I can kinda confirm this - comment submission will take ages occasionally, but work out straight away when resubmitting. –  Pëkka Jun 24 '12 at 19:11

@Won't you spelled "extremely" wrong –  ajax333221 Jun 24 '12 at 19:19

Are you talking about the bug where SO loads without CSS/styling? That definitely happens to me but is fairly uncommon. –  Ben Brocka Jun 24 '12 at 19:19

For what it's worth, I see this warning in Safari's log during the slow loading: pixel;r=1729383593;a=p-c1rF4kxgLUzNc;fpan=0;fpa=P0-1745516007-1270155109104;ns=‌0;ce=1;je=1;sr=1440x900x24;enc=n;dst=1;et=1340565459471;tzo=420;ref=;url=http%3A%‌2F%2Fstackoverflow.com%2F;ogl=:-1Resource interpreted as Image but transferred with MIME type text/plain. just loading the home page –  user1118321 Jun 24 '12 at 19:20

@Won't How can I know whether it's localized if I don't ask if others are experiencing it? –  user1118321 Jun 24 '12 at 19:21

@Oded Loading the home page takes minutes to load. However, if I simply reload, it works fine. –  user1118321 Jun 24 '12 at 19:22

@BenBrocka I don't think the issue is that it doesn't load CSS, though it's hard to say as I don't usually wait for it to finish loading (as it's taking minutes), and reload, and it works. –  user1118321 Jun 24 '12 at 19:23

(I was being facetious) Spin up your fav browser and use its dev tools to watch it load resources and see which ones take the longest. I believe situations like this are often related to CDN problems. –  Won't Jun 24 '12 at 20:10
