Meta Stack Exchange is where users like you discuss bugs, features, and support issues that affect the software powering all 130 Stack Exchange communities.

I know many users here come to get help for software, but will there be a tag for hardware coding?

I am an electrical engineer. We do coding too, but in hardware and on Stack Overflow, I cannot create a new tag unless I have more than 125 reputation points.

Any positive feedback is appreciated.

Wouldn't that be more appropriate for Electrical Engineering? –  Ben Brocka Jul 6 '12 at 18:12
@BenBrocka I don't understand your comment. –  user635600 Jul 6 '12 at 18:25
The site I linked is a Stack Overflow-like site (from our network) that solves Electrical Engineering problems including bare metal programming. Check out their FAQ: electronics.stackexchange.com/faq –  Ben Brocka Jul 6 '12 at 18:32
@BenBrocka Thanks, I didn't understood first comment as a link. –  user635600 Jul 6 '12 at 21:47
What MP are you working with? There are almost 850 questions tagged as Arduino on Stack Overflow. 'Hardware' is a rather ambiguous tag, did you try tags that more specifically describe your platform? –  Tim Post Jul 7 '12 at 4:55
Why does [hardware-coding] deserve special recognition? If it's coding of any sort, it's welcome on Stack Overflow; but if it's exotic enough to achieve special recognition (CNC lathe programming, perhaps), then maybe the question doesn't belong there after all. –  Robert Harvey Jul 7 '12 at 5:30
