Meta Stack Exchange is where users like you discuss bugs, features, and support issues that affect the software powering all 158 Stack Exchange communities.

What is meta?
Here's how it works:
  1. Any Stack Exchange user can ask a question
  2. The community provides support, votes on ideas, and reports bugs
  3. Your voice helps shape the way Stack Exchange operates

Stack Overflow's /review page has staggeringly high numbers of "Low Quality Posts" and "Close Votes". This can discourage potential reviewers from contributing, as it can feel like a hopeless task.

It would be helpful if the /review page somehow communicated "yes, these numbers are large, but we are making progress".

This will look... abysmal on Stack Overflow... – casperOne Aug 11 '12 at 5:10
Really? I've been keeping an eye on "Low Quality Posts" for the past few days, and it seems to go down by a few hundred every day. Slow progress, but still progress. – Matthew Pirocchi Aug 12 '12 at 16:41
Follow-up: Since I posted this question, the number of pending "Low Quality Posts" has dropped from 41.9k to 27k. – Matthew Pirocchi Aug 19 '12 at 1:33
