What is meta? ×
Meta Stack Exchange is where users like you discuss bugs, features, and support issues that affect the software powering all 150 Stack Exchange communities.

I just got a question closed because it was rendered subjective by the moderators. The question is important to me and I believe other people would benefit. So, I ask the following non subjective question: in which site of of the StackExchange ecosystem should I post this question?

This question came from our site for professional and enthusiast programmers.

Well, nowhere. Also, the answer is "Sublime Text 2" ;) – Ryan O'Hara Aug 29 '12 at 16:29

None of them.

The Stack exchange is not the place for subjective questions.

That is what chat is for.

At least, not that kind of subjective question. – Nicol Bolas Aug 29 '12 at 16:37
@NicolBolas what other kind is there? – amanaP lanaC A nalP A naM A Aug 29 '12 at 16:38

Well, on English it's probably ok to ask whether I should end sentences with one space or two, even though there is no 100% correct answer other than "it depends." I assume that one's a duplicate so, technically, it wouldn't be ok to ask. But you get my drift. – Aaron Bertrand Aug 29 '12 at 16:42
