Meta Stack Exchange is where users like you discuss bugs, features, and support issues that affect the software powering all 158 Stack Exchange communities.

What is meta?
Here's how it works:
  1. Any Stack Exchange user can ask a question
  2. The community provides support, votes on ideas, and reports bugs
  3. Your voice helps shape the way Stack Exchange operates

I created a tag that may be required for my question? But my question is edited and the tag is not required. Can I or others destroy my own tag that has other usages?

It will age out after a week I think. – Mysticial Aug 31 '12 at 5:14
@animuson no it is not my answer, i mean tag that created by myself but used me and other people. – Sai Ye Yan Naing Aye Aug 31 '12 at 5:36
Only moderators can flat-out destroy a tag. All a user can do is untag all the questions under it and let the system automatically destroy it. I'm not exactly sure what you're asking about, though. Do you have a specific tag you're wondering about? – animuson Aug 31 '12 at 5:37
he might mean web-console as this is from his last question and got vanished while editing question. And has now no other question tagged. – Shegit Brahm Aug 31 '12 at 6:43
@animuson No, we can't (unfortunately), only SE employees can. Merging is the only thing we can do with tags that regular users can't. – Yannis Aug 31 '12 at 7:18
