Meta Stack Exchange is where users like you discuss bugs, features, and support issues that affect the software powering all 158 Stack Exchange communities.

What is meta?
Here's how it works:
  1. Any Stack Exchange user can ask a question
  2. The community provides support, votes on ideas, and reports bugs
  3. Your voice helps shape the way Stack Exchange operates

The "Possible duplicate ..." message, in the question preview, has following consequences:

  • It tells us the closing reason (good)
  • Takes away valuable space, hiding other important things (bad)
  • Makes it really hard to tell where the question body starts (bad)

Here is an example if you want to test the points above:

What text is what?

And here is a Possible solution that fixes the bad points without messing with the good point:

Hide link text

This however, will remove the duplicate titles, but the reasoning for me to believe that question content is more important than these titles is the following:

If someone is reading the preview, is because he is deciding whether to click it or not, reading more background should be more important than reading the dup titles (I doubt that many people will actually click on a question because it had X link and not the Y link)
