Meta Stack Exchange is where users like you discuss bugs, features, and support issues that affect the software powering all 158 Stack Exchange communities.

What is meta?
Here's how it works:
  1. Any Stack Exchange user can ask a question
  2. The community provides support, votes on ideas, and reports bugs
  3. Your voice helps shape the way Stack Exchange operates

I'm just reporting a "bug" in Career 2.0's "Apply for a job" form. Upon form load: the vertical-scroll-bar in the "Cover Letter" textbox is only about 1cm from the left margin, so the text (which was pre-populated with my previous cover letter) is all bunched up...

Here's a screenie: scrollbar.left=Int32.WTF

Then, when I clear the content of that textbox (Ctrl-A delete), the scroll bar disappears but is evidently still "too far left", as the below screen shows.

So I can't (effectively) apply for a Job! No big deal, from your seat!

Cheers. Keith.

What version of Firefox are you using? – AakashM Oct 2 '12 at 8:06
Damn good question... It's 13.0.1, and if I recall correctly it just updated itself this morning, so it's quite probably a bug in UA, which SO's DHTML just happens to trip over. – corlettk Oct 2 '12 at 8:20
No repro in IE6. – Won't Oct 2 '12 at 13:50
Hi, It's tested and works fine with the latest release update channel for Firefox (which is 15). You seem to be running an old version with disabled updates, can you try update to the latest version? – mythz Oct 2 '12 at 19:23
