Meta Stack Exchange is where users like you discuss bugs, features, and support issues that affect the software powering all 158 Stack Exchange communities.

What is meta?
Here's how it works:
  1. Any Stack Exchange user can ask a question
  2. The community provides support, votes on ideas, and reports bugs
  3. Your voice helps shape the way Stack Exchange operates

While editing this question, I have noticed how scattered the tags related to encryption / decryption have become.

Here are my suggestions for some of the main tags and their outcasts that I have noticed:

  1. Merge into .
  2. Merge into .
  3. Create a new tag and merge and into it.

How about doing this cleanup, and merging the outcasts into the existing or newly-created proper tags?

Decryption is already a synonym of encryption. – Awesome Poodles Oct 26 '12 at 2:11
Doesn't decryption differ a lot from encryption? I mean, although there is a common theme between both, but far from synonyms, one is the opposite of the other! ___ I'll use a famous misquotation here: "Houston, we have a problem!" – AlmightyR Oct 26 '12 at 2:30
Well yes, we would hope that decryption would be qualitatively different from encryption -- or else our bank accounts and porn stashes are doomed! But I didn't make or vote to approve that synonym. – Awesome Poodles Oct 26 '12 at 2:43
You might not have voted or approved the synonym, but you can help fix the problem that it configures! - For our porn stash's sake! =P – AlmightyR Oct 26 '12 at 2:48
