Meta Stack Exchange is where users like you discuss bugs, features, and support issues that affect the software powering all 127 Stack Exchange communities.

In Stack Overflow, I feel that in the text in the top portion (where your name, rep, chat menu, etc. is shown, the text weight is set to normal!

I think it is better to have it back to bold. Because right now when I view it, only the rep is shown in bold and it's a bit odd to view the rest in plain format.

See the image: Screenshots of Stack Exchange top bar as is currently and changed into bold for comparison

On Mac OS, it doesn't appear to be as bad as it does on windows (I use both platforms). Putting bold would be overkill for mac, and while I can see the usefulness of that for the fonts used on FF / Chrome, I don't think it's worthwhile (also considering that it just uses the platform default font, and that could already be bold for some users). –  Richard J. Wasn't it just set to normal from bold? –  Bart Nov 9 '12 at 18:18

@Bart: Yes they changed it to normal text on Nov 1 or 2. I asked about it in the Tvaern and there was a discussion from Jin about it later on. –  animuson Nov 9 '12 at 18:23

I HATE CHANGE TOO! But I got used to it after a few days. –  Frédéric Hamidi Nov 9 '12 at 18:27

Thanks all for your comments. But it is more neat(atleast to me), if the text is bold. @TimStone, but I am not seeing that kind of effect(the screenshot you have posted) in my chrome! Just wondering, may I know why I got a negative feedback on this question. Didn't I posted it clearly ? Didn't I took effort in creating a screenshot showing the comparison of the look by setting the bold attribute too? –  Akhilesh B Chandran Nov 10 '12 at 3:54
