Meta Stack Exchange is where users like you discuss bugs, features, and support issues that affect the software powering all 153 Stack Exchange communities.

What is meta?
Here's how it works:
  1. Any Stack Exchange user can ask a question
  2. The community provides support, votes on ideas, and reports bugs
  3. Your voice helps shape the way Stack Exchange operates

I would like to suggest merging the following tag pairs:

There are questions tagged with both variants however , and are used more frequently.

One can ask why to merge > . Note a typo in the tag name BTW!

How would you reconcile these with the [svn-hooks], [mercurial-hook], [githook] and occasional poorly used [hook] tags? – ben is uǝq backwards Dec 10 '12 at 13:06
@Ben If a question is about Hg pre-commit hook it should be tagged [mercurial-hook], [pre-commit] IMHO. In case of SVN the question should be tagged [svnhooks], [pre-commit]. With git it should look like [githook], [pre-commit]. You raise and interesting question that demolishes my mind, actually. xD – bahrep Dec 10 '12 at 13:13
