Meta Stack Exchange is where users like you discuss bugs, features, and support issues that affect the software powering all 158 Stack Exchange communities.

What is meta?
Here's how it works:
  1. Any Stack Exchange user can ask a question
  2. The community provides support, votes on ideas, and reports bugs
  3. Your voice helps shape the way Stack Exchange operates

I am new to the concept of these moderator elections. Is there any way I can subscribe to all all flavors of Stack Exchange websites for moderator elections? There is a badge caucus— "Visited an election during any phase of an active election". That's how I learned there elections exist.

Don't we already get notifications for the nomination and election phases? – Ben Brocka Dec 12 '12 at 22:20

When you are eligible to participate in an election phase, you get a notification in your global inbox on the site, no sign-up required.

Elections are also announced on the site's meta, in the community bulletin board on the site, and (sometimes, but we're trying to avoid it) in a system message banner.

There is no way right now to be notified of elections on any site, and I'm not sure what the point would be. Moderator elections are largely an internal matter on the site. They sometimes attract spectators from other sites, but for the most part, they're pretty self-contained.

You can read the gory details about the election setup and process here and see past (and current, though right now there aren't any) elections across the network here.

Note that you can also subscribe to email notifications for your global inbox, if you want more intrusive notifications of such things. – Shog9 Dec 12 '12 at 23:24

I think the best you can do is watch for posts tagged on every meta site; you'll get other random posts about elections, and won't get one notification per phase, but you will hear about every election since they get mentioned on meta. There's a filter here you can watch (which is how I found this post in the first place)
