Meta Stack Exchange is where users like you discuss bugs, features, and support issues that affect the software powering all 158 Stack Exchange communities.

What is meta?
Here's how it works:
  1. Any Stack Exchange user can ask a question
  2. The community provides support, votes on ideas, and reports bugs
  3. Your voice helps shape the way Stack Exchange operates

The Objectives section of asks the question 'Will you relocate?' Entering a location of 'Tbilisi, Georgia' results in the Objectives listing 'Willing to relocate to Tbilisi, GA.'

GA is shorthand for the American state of Georgia, but not for the country of Georgia, i.e.

While I might expect stackoverflow to have an American viewpoint, this error occurred at Careers UK: Perhaps I should also add that I have met more Americans than British working in Tbilisi, so I feel this bug would be worthwhile fixing.

დიდი მადლობა / many thanks

Attempting to enter just Tbilisi (without reference to Georgia) triggers a rewriting to Tbilisi, GA. – paulhhowells Dec 20 '12 at 17:44
Attempting to enter თბილისი (instead of Tbilisi) triggers the clever, but wrong, guess of 'London, United Kingdom'. – paulhhowells Dec 20 '12 at 17:45
Unicode is your friend ;-) – paulhhowells Dec 20 '12 at 17:48
Adding 'Sakartvelo' is intelligently transformed into 'Georgia' (and not GA). – paulhhowells Dec 20 '12 at 17:53
