Meta Stack Exchange is where users like you discuss bugs, features, and support issues that affect the software powering all 158 Stack Exchange communities.

What is meta?
Here's how it works:
  1. Any Stack Exchange user can ask a question
  2. The community provides support, votes on ideas, and reports bugs
  3. Your voice helps shape the way Stack Exchange operates

I am currently doing some electronics and microcontroller programming, and I have a couple of questions to ask the people here.

Most of the questions are regarding wiring on breadboards and components.

On which of the websites (Stack Overflow, Server Fault, or Super User) should I ask these particular questions?

So which of these is more popular, or Hmm, I'll answer my own stupid question - the former has 5 pages of questions, the latter 24. – Mat Feb 15 '10 at 18:41
Well, they're the same site now - with close to 6 thousand questions. – Shog9 Dec 23 '11 at 20:13
Today redirects to, which bans questions about consumer electronics... – IsaacS Dec 25 '15 at 7:06

Well, if it's about microcontroller programming you could try Stack Overflow as it is a programming question, but I'm not sure there's much of an audience for that kind of question. You never know until you try though I guess.

Other than that, it doesn't really fit Stack Overflow, Server Fault or Super User.

Well that's the's not really about the programming per ce, but mostly about the electronics stuff...wiring, components, soldering and all that – Andreas Grech Aug 23 '09 at 10:57
That definitely doesn't fit anywhere. – cletus Aug 23 '09 at 10:59
hmm, so i guess this is a feature request then – Andreas Grech Aug 23 '09 at 11:32

Not sure if this is a feature request. The topic of conversation is defined by the goal of the site, and this particular question does not fit in any of the current Trilogy sites. I would imagine the only way to be able to handle this is by either stating or expecting a electronics site to come out of StackExchange when it is open to the public, and I am pretty confident we will see that fairly early on.

I would suggest you keep an eye on the list of StackExchange available here. There is no Electronics site listed as yet.
