Meta Stack Exchange is where users like you discuss bugs, features, and support issues that affect the software powering all 158 Stack Exchange communities.

What is meta?
Here's how it works:
  1. Any Stack Exchange user can ask a question
  2. The community provides support, votes on ideas, and reports bugs
  3. Your voice helps shape the way Stack Exchange operates

Although there are a lot of questions here about problems displaying up/down vote totals, I wasn't able to find one quite like this. Here are the steps to reproduce:

  1. Visit this question:

  2. Click the '8' to display vote totals:

  3. Upvote the question:

    enter image description here

Wait! 81? Where did that come from?

  4. Now reload the page and click the '9' to display vote totals again.

  5. Remove your upvote:

I haven't tried reproducing this on any other Stack Exchange sites.

Just a wild guess - but perhaps the problem is a parseInt() +/- 1 on the text content of the element containing the vote totals? – uɐɯsO uɐɥʇɐN Feb 10 '13 at 22:53
