Meta Stack Exchange is where users like you discuss bugs, features, and support issues that affect the software powering all 157 Stack Exchange communities.

What is meta?
Here's how it works:
  1. Any Stack Exchange user can ask a question
  2. The community provides support, votes on ideas, and reports bugs
  3. Your voice helps shape the way Stack Exchange operates

Does it use a full-text searching engine like Lucene or does it use other data mining tools? I have a some xml data residing in a native xml database and am looking for ways to present to the user that this question (or parts of it) may have already been answered in a different question.

related (dupe?) Which tools and technologies are used to build the Stack Exchange Network? (as of now, there's nothing about search there though) – gnat Feb 12 '13 at 16:38

We use ElasticSearch - we used to use Lucene.NET.

Why isn't stackexchange featured? – Jasjeev Singh Feb 12 '13 at 16:05
@JasjeevSingh - Ask them... We have just started using it - this is a fairly new development. – Oded Feb 12 '13 at 16:07
<pedantic>ElasticSearch also uses Lucene.</pedantic> – Charles Feb 12 '13 at 18:08
