Possible duplicate: What is the encouraged rank of close reasons?

The previous question has an answer that says: "Doesn't matter, just pick a close vote", I'd like to be more consistent in the way I do the close vote reviews.

Here is my view:

  1. Too localized: it probably has no valid reason to stay on the page (and any other SE site), and will get deleted eventually anyway.

  2. Okay, so it's probably not localized, it might be useful for others as well. But it's Not constructive, and it will probably remain that even after editing. And it's still not fit for any other SE sites either.

  3. Next it seems the question is not local and it might actually have a good answer, but the question is so badly worded no one knows how to answer it. It is Not a real question.

  4. The question is valid, might have answers that are factual, but is not really programming related. Off-topic

  5. The question is valid, clear, on-topic, but unfortunately someone has already answered it, so it's a Duplicate

Is my way of thinking right, or should I still just press any of the buttons if there are multiple reasons to do so?

It's a nice hierarchy you've made, but it's not something I apply. I just pick the close reason I think fits best. I.e. if multiple apply I just pick the one that is the worst offender. – Bart Mar 14 '13 at 14:54
Basically I did the same, but somehow it didn't fell right. e.g. I think closing via Off Topic is only for posts that I'd like to see on a site where they are on topic (whether that site is SE, or any other Q&A site). And I just realised my order is mainly the same as for the actual close vote view, just backwards :) – SztupY Mar 14 '13 at 14:59
I guess ultimately the answer is, if this works for you, then it's fine. As long as the reason you end up selecting is an appropriate one, how you get there doesn't really matter. – Bart Mar 14 '13 at 15:01
I would change #5 to "someone has already asked it". One of our close as duplicates problem is that sometimes the original question has no answer. – Lance Roberts Mar 14 '13 at 15:01
@LanceRoberts That is no longer a possibility for non-meta sites, is it? – Bart Mar 14 '13 at 15:01
@Bart, yeh, i think you're right. – Lance Roberts Mar 14 '13 at 15:02
Too localized: [...] will get deleted eventually anyway. Why do you believe this to be true? – Some Helpful Commenter Mar 14 '13 at 15:02
