Meta Stack Exchange is where users like you discuss bugs, features, and support issues that affect the software powering all 158 Stack Exchange communities.

What is meta?
Here's how it works:
  1. Any Stack Exchange user can ask a question
  2. The community provides support, votes on ideas, and reports bugs
  3. Your voice helps shape the way Stack Exchange operates

The last few minutes (half an hour perhaps?) none of the SE sites answer to HTTP. This is the first one to come up again.

Yes, my Internet connection to the US is working fine, even to the US. While it was down:

$ traceroute to (, 30 hops max, 60 byte packets
 [delete, irrelevant anyway]
 6 ( 139.671 ms 129.079 ms 130.511 ms
 7 ( 135.406 ms 135.191 ms 135.501 ms
 8 ( 197.202 ms 134.998 ms ( 134.775 ms
 9 ( 195.771 ms 134.743 ms 134.490 ms

Right now this is the only site responding.

OK, the sites came up again (but are quite slow). – vonbrand Mar 17 '13 at 2:53
It's not you. While they were down, I checked from three external uptime services and the stackexchange sites were not responding to any of them. – Sparky Mar 17 '13 at 3:02
@Yannis, thanks. No criticism implied/explied, just wanted to let you know. – vonbrand Mar 17 '13 at 3:20
@Yannis, Ironically, that status tweet is not showing on the page at the moment. ;-) Update: After 22 minutes, it now shows on the StackStatus twitter page. – Awesome Poodles Mar 17 '13 at 3:23
